Will Claude write and publish the book for me?
Claude drafts the chapters in your voice and builds the figures, worksheets, interiors, eBook, covers and listing. It does not replace your judgment and it never publishes anything: you verify the research and claims, approve the manuscript and files, and upload to KDP yourself.
Will it help with writer's block?
Yes, Claude helps prevent it. You never start from an empty page: each chapter begins from your approved brief and outline, which say what the chapter is for and what it must cover, and your voice profile keeps the draft sounding like you. Ask Claude to draft the chapter, suggest an opening, or talk the ideas through with you, then improve the draft in your own words. The judgment and the final words stay yours.
Will Claude do the Amazon research?
Yes, in the Claude sidebar in Chrome, where it searches Amazon, opens the competing books, reads their reviews and records every figure with the page address and date. You read along, judge what it found and make the decision. If your sidebar cannot run the skills, Claude gives you a short request to type on each page, or you paste the pages in.
What do I need?
A paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise), Google Chrome with the free Claude in Chrome extension, a free GitHub account for your private repository, and Google Drive with its desktop app, both free with a Google account (up to 15 GB of storage at no charge). Running the skills inside the Chrome sidebar is available on Max, Team and eligible Pro plans. You do not need Word, a design program or any typesetting software: the files are made in Claude’s own workspace.
Do I have to do the research first?
No. If you already know your book, start the production project from a blank brief with three cells filled in: title, subtitle and description.
Will my book still sell in a few years?
The research looks for evergreen choices on purpose. Every idea is rated evergreen (steady demand across five years of search data, a problem people will still have in ten years), seasonal evergreen (the same demand every year, with the launch timed six to eight weeks before it) or trend-led, and for how long its content stays accurate. The scorecard rewards the evergreen ideas, the chapters are written so they do not date, and a book whose facts do date is flagged for an accuracy review on schedule. Nobody can promise sales; an evergreen book simply has years, not months, to find its readers.
What happens after I publish?
The after-launch skill checks your live pages every week against what you set, and flags anything wrong with the one thing to fix. It also builds an Amazon Ads starter pack, plans Kindle promotions on real dates, writes your Author Central kit, refreshes keywords and categories at 60 to 90 days, turns reviews into a fix list, applies KDP’s rule on whether your changes are an update or a new edition and prepares the second edition, and keeps a shelf of all your books.
Can I publish a hardcover?
Yes, as an option for any book from 75 to 550 pages, on any trim size KDP allows for hardcovers. The hardcover uses the same interior as the paperback. KDP publishes no formula for a hardcover cover, so you read its size off KDP’s free public cover calculator, and Claude builds the case wrap to it, keeping every word 16 mm from the edges as KDP asks. A hardcover sells as a premium edition, a keepsake choice for readers who love printed books.
Does the book ask readers for reviews?
Yes, once, on a short page at the back, in the only way Amazon allows: it asks for an honest review, good or bad, names no star rating and offers nothing in return. The pre-flight checks the wording before you upload.
Is there a limit on how long my book can be?
No, only Amazon's own: up to 776 pages for a paperback on cream paper at the usual trims, or 828 on white, 75 to 550 for a hardcover, and no page limit for a Kindle eBook. What every book does get is its own page ceiling, set at the start. Claude proposes it from the page counts of the competing books found in the research, you confirm it or choose your own number, and the outline and every chapter are then written to fit it. The book is planned to a length instead of discovered at typesetting, it is never padded to reach the ceiling, and you can raise it whenever the material needs the room.
Can I publish a series?
Yes. Each book can be standalone or part of a series, ordered or unordered. The system records it, prepares it in your listing pack and checks it on the live pages.
Can I change how the system works?
Yes, at any stage. Tell Claude what you want, such as a different font, your own ISBN, British spelling, fewer competitors to check or a new section in every chapter, and it changes your copy of the system and keeps the change for every later book. Updates to the system itself are free.
Can I use my own font or my own ISBN?
Yes. The interior can use the supplied font, any Google Fonts family, your own font files with a licence that allows embedding, or a font Claude proposes for the book. Claude checks and calibrates it so page counts stay right. For the ISBN, use KDP’s free one or buy your own from your national ISBN agency; the system records your imprint and checks it before upload.
Why black-and-white interiors?
Black and white keeps printing cost to a minimum, so more of every sale is yours. Text, line drawings, worksheets and tables are designed in black and grey from the start, so nothing is lost when printed. The cover is printed in full colour at no extra cost, and the Kindle edition shows the same figures.
Which paper will my book be printed on?
You choose, book by book: white, cream, or KDP’s newer groundwood paper, which is thinner, lighter and about 5% cheaper to print, with the warm feel of a mass-market paperback. For each nonfiction book (and each novel, with the Fiction add-on), Claude suggests the paper that suits it, with the printing cost and royalty of each, and the cover, the page limit and the pre-flight all follow your choice. Your download includes KDP-Paper-Comparison.xlsx, a spreadsheet that compares the three papers and works out the cost, royalty and spine width on each for any Amazon store, trim, page count and price.
How are the categories chosen?
Claude reads each category on Amazon’s store in the Chrome sidebar, so it can confirm the category exists today. KDP’s category picker is inside your own KDP account, where Claude never works, and Amazon changes its categories from time to time. So you get three categories and three alternates, and you confirm each in the picker when you publish, choosing the closest match where one differs.
What can a book earn?
Every book is different, so we make no income claims. What the system does is give each book its best start: a market checked before you write, a book built to be trusted, clean files and steady care after launch. A book can start earning soon after publication; how much depends on the topic, the book, its price, promotion and your persistence.
